This helpful page has been put together to get the most from Marbling!

Marbling Kit Tips:

1. When using the paints, shake before use to make sure the paint is well mixed. They can separate over long periods of time.

2. Try not to add to much paint when making a print as the colours will mix into darker ones which don't look as nice.

3.  Don't over mix the print as this can also cause the colours to mix to much, and you also lose the nice patterns formed using this technique.

4. Wash of the excess seaweed solution carefully. If using a tap, make sure the tap is on a low flow setting, as high flow can wash of the paint as well. A good tip from Marbling Madness is to go to an art shop or hardware store, and purchase a water bottle. This (or a spray bottle) are the best tools to use.

Marbling Kit Extras:

1. When your print is dry, use it to make your own cards. They are much better than mass produced ones as they are unique, cheaper and fun to make.

2. Make your own paper (get a recipe from the web) to use to make a marbling print. If you add some starch to the paper mixture when you make it, it drys nice and hard. You can use a iron to flatten it once dry. When you use this for marbling, the starch makes more paint bind to the paper. As the paper is not milled (like normal paper) it is much more absorbent, so the prints come out really well! Making paper is also really good fun and quite educational too!

3. Cut your marble print into four pieces and stick a label on the other side to cover the back. You can then use this a gift tags for presents, they are so easy to make and look good too.
